About Transplant Support Group

At The Transplant Institute at Methodist Dallas Medical Center we understand firsthand the challenges and emotions that accompany the journey of organ transplantation. We believe that by coming together, sharing experiences, and supporting one another, we can create a powerful network of individuals who inspire hope, empower lives, and foster resilience.

Our Organ Transplant Support Group offers a safe and welcoming space for patients like you who have undergone or are awaiting an organ transplant. Whether you are a recipient, a candidate, or a caregiver, this group aims to provide solace, encouragement, and valuable insights as we navigate the intricacies of the transplant process together.

Here's what you can expect from our support group:

  1. Emotional Support: Connect with fellow patients who understand the unique challenges and triumphs associated with organ transplantation. Share your experiences, fears, and victories, knowing that you are surrounded by people who genuinely empathize with your journey.
  2. Knowledge and Resources: Gain access to a wealth of information, resources, and educational materials related to organ transplantation. Our group sessions often feature guest speakers, medical professionals, and experts who can shed light on various aspects of transplant care, medication management, and lifestyle adjustments.
  3. Peer Mentorship: Benefit from the wisdom and guidance provided by those who have already undergone a successful transplant. Through our Transplant Mentor Program, our group fosters mentorship opportunities, allowing experienced members to lend a helping hand to those who are newer to the process.
  4. Social Connections: Forge lasting friendships and develop a strong support network with individuals who share your experiences. Engage in group activities, social outings, and virtual events designed to promote camaraderie and a sense of belonging.

The Organ Transplant Support Group meets every 3rd Monday of the month at 6:30 PM, in person and via Zoom. Our sessions typically last an hour and are facilitated by compassionate healthcare professionals who specialize in transplant care. Please note that confidentiality is strictly maintained in all group discussions.

Please, feel free to reach out to us with any specific concerns or questions you may have.

Remember, you are not alone in this journey.
