National Recovery Month: Do you need help?
National Recovery Month, started in 1989, is celebrated every September to raise awareness about effective treatment and recovery options, recognize the strength of the recovery community, and appreciate the service providers and communities that help make recovery happen.
As a leading transplant program, we understand the added challenges of recovery while also managing a major health event. To best support our patients and their families, multiple recovery resources are available through our transplant program.
Transplant Mentor Program
The Transplant Mentor Program offers unique, patient-led support for every stage of the transplant journey. Our mentors provide guidance on topics such as navigating the transplant process, managing waitlist anxiety, addiction and recovery, life after transplant, survivor’s guilt, and more.

AA Support Groups
The Transplant Institute at Methodist Dallas and the Transplant Mentor Program are here to support your recovery journey. We offer weekly recovery meetings that provide a safe, welcoming space for patients, families, and friends facing alcohol addiction.
Each week, we host three online meetings, each with a different approach to addiction and recovery.
