Showing Our Appreciation
Our team has been busy for the last few months! We have celebrated National Nurses Week, Patient Appreciation Week, as well as our very own Employee Engagement Month! Let’s take a behind-the-scenes look at the fun, supportive events happening at Methodist Dallas Medical Center & The Liver Institute!
National Nurses Week
Each year, from May 6-12, we celebrate National Nurses Week which honors the endless, hard work and important contributions of our amazing nurses. With the inspiration of this year’s theme, tropics, The Liver Institute set up a “make your own agua fresca” station and ordered tropical-themed food for a fun afternoon refreshment!
Patient Appreciation Week
Also in May, we hosted a Patient Appreciation Week for the patients of The Liver Institute. Our lobby was decorated and each day we handed out goodies to our patients and set up a DIY pen-making station. In addition, we displayed artwork created by one of our transplant recipients, which had a wide border for patients to write a note of encouragement and gratitude. We are excited to get this beautiful piece of art hung in our lobby soon!
Employee Engagement Month
This year we chose ‘Knock it out of the park’ as our theme and gifted each Liver Institute employee with their very own baseball card, complete with a picture and important facts about them. We loved posting these cards on our “All Star Wall” and treating the staff to ballpark food favorites such as nachos, hot dogs and popcorn for lunch. We love our staff and want them to know it!
